Job Overview The Area Director of Sales-Corporate is responsible for planning and managing the overall sales and marketing for a collection of 2-10 full-service, premium select, and/or independent branded hotels. The assignment of hotel(s) may change based on business needs. The role aims to achieve optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize revenue, while meeting or exceeding profit objectives for the entire hotel collection. Responsibilities include overseeing sales operations, staff management, and budgeting. Qualifications At least 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree with at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Prior experience as a Director of Sales or in National Sales, especially in major downtown markets. Valid driver’s license in the applicable state. Strong verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and influence. Professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing. Analytical skills and strategic vision for sales deployment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong organizational and presentation skills. Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and solve complex problems. Advanced knowledge of sales, marketing, and hospitality principles. Ability to work under stress and maintain composure. Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic functions. Responsibilities Coordinate group, transient, and catering sales to maximize revenue. Develop and manage sales automation and marketing efforts. Manage the division's budget, advertising, and marketing plans. Conduct sales trips and develop key market accounts. Perform outside sales calls, conduct tours, and entertain clients. Negotiate contract terms and develop market awareness strategies. Monitor top account performance and market trends. Visit hotels to assess sales leadership and adherence to standards. Achieve individual and team sales goals and budgets. Train hotel staff on sales opportunities. Manage HR functions within the division to attract and retain staff. Develop operational knowledge across hotel departments. Maintain visibility in the community and industry organizations. Participate in meetings and training sessions. Promote communication across hotels and with marketing partners. Travel weekly as required. Perform duties as assigned, including acting on behalf of the GM in their absence.
